quick intro

I have just joined, so waving to say hi. :)  Totally new to Blender, but wanting to learn to use it properly.

Welcome! Blender is an awesome program once you get used to its quirky interface, which doesn't always quite do what you think it's going to at first.

My hints:

The Noob-to-pro guide is really useful early on, but once you get further in I'd start using the manual instead.

Rigging: when you get there, "create groups from bone heat" is a great way to *start* a rig's connection to the mesh, but you should do a little weight painting to retouch.

Lighting: No matter how important you might already think lighting is, it's MORE important than that. :3
Are the greybeard video tutorials still available out there..? those are what helped the most with settling in to the interface and getting the basics.

I did download them, havent had a chance to watch them yet though :)
